The book consists of 14 chapters on recent development of various issues in Indonesia. The book is divided into 4 Parts. Part I concerns on issues related to regional economic disparities. Part II is on agriculture and environment. Part III discusses financial sector development in the country. Finally, Part IV presents status of living conditions of the people in Indonesia.”

This book contains selected papers presented in The Second IRSA International Institute held in Bogor, 21-23 July, 2009. They report important findings from the studies on three big issues of regional development in Indonesia: Problems of Regional Development (Poverty, Unemployment, Disparities, and Sustainability), Political Economics of Regional Development (Spatial Planning and Fiscal Policies), and Prospect of Regional Development (Optimizing Partnership and Local Potential Resources).

This book contains 9 papers selected from papers presented at the 9th Indonesian Regional Science Association (IRSA) International Conference, entitled “The Current and Future Issues of Regional Development, Energy and Climate Change”. 55 papers were presented at the conference, and 15 of them were submitted to be included in this book. This book is divided into 3 parts. Part I concern regional economics and development, Part II energy, and the last part climate change and the environment.

This book contains 9 papers selected among papers presented at the 8th Indonesia Regional Science Association (IRSA) International Conference entitled :”Empowering Regional Economic Development Toward Sustainable Poverty Alleviation”. There were 80 papers presented in the conference, and 30 of them were submitted to be included in the book. In selecting the papers, special attention was given to papers written by those who recently graduated with a master of the PhD program. The conference was held on August 18-19, 2006, at Brawijaya University, Malang, East Java. It was conducted by the IRSA, the faculty of economics, Brawijaya University, and the East Java Development Planning Agency. The conference would not have been possible without generous financial support from the East Java Development Planning Agency and the Research Center for Economic Policy (PPKE), Faculty of Economics – Brawijaya University, or the active participation of those attending the conference.
