Demographic Change and Regional Development

The Indonesian Regional Science Association (IRSA) in collaboration with Brawijaya University invites scholars, practitioners and graduate students to submit papers to be presented in the 13th IRSA International Conference. The theme of the conference is Demographic Change and Regional Development, and it will be held in Malang, East Java, on 25-26 July, 2016.

 Potential topics to be discussed in this conference include, but are not limited to:
  • Demographic Issues: Demographic Dividend, Ageing, Youth, Migration
  • Health, Education and Human Capital
  • Poverty, Inequality and Inter-regional disparities
  • Rural development, Agriculture, Urban Issues, Rural-Urban Migration
  • Regional labour market, human resources development, job creation, social security
  • Public policy, regional and urban planning and regional development
  • Housing, transportation, communication and other regional infrastructures issues
  • Regional/international trade, public finance, investment and inflation
  • Political economy and governance of regional development
  • Bureaucratic Reforms and Corruption

 
Extended paper abstract of about 250-500 words should be submitted online via https://www.conftool.com/irsa2016. Abstract should consist of background, data and methodology, potential contribution to knowledge, and keywords. Abstract should be in English, as also the full paper.
Paper sessions are seminar-style with a discussant for each paper and ample time for discussion and for participants to provide constructive feedback to authors. Paper presentations will be in English.
